Malice
David Duchovny, Jack Whitehall, and Carice van Houten are set to star in Amazon Prime Video’s new UK psychological thriller series “Malice” from writer and executive producer James Wood (“The Great,””Rev”).
Whitehall will play a young man who seeks to infiltrate the world of a wealthy family, with Duchovny and van Houten playing the heads of that family. [Source: Variety]
Fire Country
Morena Baccarin will appear in the upcoming second season of CBS’ “Fire Country” in the role of Sheriff Mickey, a character who could become a series regular as the episode is speculated to a backdoor pilot for a potential spinoff series. Lockerbie
Oscar winner Colin Firth has signed on for the leading role in Peacock’s forthcoming limited drama series “Lockerbie” about the aftermath of 1988’s Pan Am Flight 103 bombing. Filming will begin early in the year.
Firth plays Jim Swire, the nominated spokesperson for the U.K. victims’ families. Traveling across continents and political divides, Jim embarks on a relentless journey to find the truth and justice – shattering his world view in the process. [Source: Variety]
Far North
Sundance Now and AMC+ have premiered the trailer for “Far North,” the six-episode dramedy series from New Zealand that will hit the service on February 15th. Temuera Morrison and Robyn Malcolm star.
The mostly true story tale follows how an ordinary couple – a pesky 70-year-old Maori diesel mechanic and his aqua-aerobics instructing wife – managed to foil the plans of an international crime ring in the Pacific.
Shogun
FX has released a new red-band trailer for “Shogun,” its upcoming ten-episode series adaptation of James Clavell’s famed feudal Japan-set best-selling novel which premieres February 27th.
Justin Marks and his wife Rachel Kondo pen the story which charts the collision of two ambitious men from different worlds and a mysterious female samurai. Hiroyuki Sanada, Anna Sawai and Cosmo Jarvis star.
