CBS will re-team with producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Holland and Steve Molaro to develop a spin-off of “Young Sheldon,” their prequel series to “The Big Bang Theory”.
The potential spin-off would revolve around Sheldon’s older brother Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and his fiancée Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment).
The spinoff is reportedly being considered for the 2024-25 broadcast season with a thirteen-episode order. In addition, the project will be a multicamera comedy – a change from the single-camera comedy of “Young Sheldon”.
A formal series order is expected to come after deals for the leads close, with Lorre, Holland and Molaro set to write and exec produce for Warner Bros. Television.
This is separate from the other “Young Sheldon” spinoff Lorre is developing for the streamer Max, specifics of that are under wraps.
Lorre’s “Bob Hearts Abishola” is also wrapping this year, but his Max comedy “Bookie” recently scored a renewal.
