Actor Ryan Reynolds is closing out 2023 with a new photo of himself in his Deadpool superhero costume during the filming of the upcoming third entry in that series.
The photo was amidst a reel of 2023 photos Reynolds posted, the caption reading: “Thank you 2023 part 1. In no real order. I got to spend most of the year working and playing with the people I [love].”
The Shawn Levy-directed project was one of the more high-profile movies to suspend filming due to the actor’s strike. The project was halfway through its shoot when it hit pause, then began again in late November.
Filming should be wrapping up early in the new year. Levy has indicated previously that the film is “raw, audacious, very much R-rated” and retains the style and tone of the two previous films from 20th Century Studios.
“Deadpool 3″ will also mark the first Marvel Studios R-rated movie, and the only Marvel Studios film opening in 2024 – though Sony will have three Marvel features (“Madame Web,” “Kraven the Hunter” and “Venom 3”) coming out.
“Deadpool 3” is currently slated to release in cinemas on July 26th 2024.
