Marvel is readying to get back to work on its “Thunderbolts” movie in the Spring.
Wyatt Russell, who played John Walker/US Agent in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” series, reprises his role for the upcoming feature which will bring together numerous supporting characters from the MCU.
These include Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
Out promoting his other recent role in Apple’s “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” series, Wyatt tells THR he’s keen to continue exploring his Marvel character:
“There’s so much to play with John, and there’s so much more to do with John. I’m so lucky to get to work with the kind of talent that I’m going to work with when Thunderbolts starts up in March or April.
It just feels like we’re going for something that has depth and something interesting to theorize about beyond just flying around and doing superhero stuff.”
Harrison Ford will also appear in the film as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, taking over the role from the late William Hurt first in “Captain America: Brave New World” in early 2025. “Thunderbolts” is set for a July 25th 2025 release.
