Production has officially resumed in the UK on the second season of Apple TV+ sci-fi series “Silo” with the cast and crew back at Hoddesdon Studios in Hertfordshire.
Based on the novels by Hugh Howey, the series follows Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) – an engineer living in a dystopian silo that keeps people safe from the toxic conditions of the outside world.
Juliette begins to bend the rules to uncover the secrets both inside and beyond the silo’s walls which figures inside have conspired to keep hidden.
The first season was shot across late 2021 and premiered in May this year to very positive reviews and became Apple TV+’s number-one drama to date.
A very quick renewal order was handed out whilst the first season was still airing. The production team was ready for that renewal, so much so they were able to begin shooting within weeks – kicking off the second season shoot in June.
Then production was paused indefinitely back in July amid the SAG-AFTRA strike, but now cast and crew have returned to work. As filming will like continue well into next year, don’t expect the second season to hit the streamer until well into 2025.
Other series like Netflix’s “The Diplomat” and “The Sandman” also recently resumed production in the UK.
