Walt Disney Pictures has released its 2024 slate of films and high-profile series, the listing sadly confirming what was already rumored – that the second season of the acclaimed “Star Wars” series “Andor” is not on it and ain’t likely until 2025.
The slate is as follows:
January 10th: “Marvel’s Echo” (Disney+)
April 5th: “The First Omen” (Theatrical)
May 24th: “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” (Theatrical)
June 14th: “Inside Out 2” (Theatrical)
July 26th: Untitled “Deadpool” Film (Theatrical)
August 16th: Untitled “Alien” Event Film (Theatrical)
Fall 2024: “Marvel’s Agatha: Darkhold Diaries” (Disney+)
November 8th: “The Amateur” (Theatrical)
December 20th: “Mufasa: The Lion King” (Theatrical)
Also on the list but not yet dated were the following:
“Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda” (animated series)
“Star Wars: The Acolyte”
“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” S3 (animated series)
“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”
“Star Wars: Talkes of the Jedi” S2 (animated series)
“X-Men ’97” (animated series)
“Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” (animated series)
The listing confirms Fede Alvarez’s “Alien” film, previously titled “Alien: Romulus,” will be getting a theatrical release and won’t suffer the direct-to-Hulu fate of “Prey” the other year.
Of course, this is likely not the entire slate – especially in terms of Disney+ releases. Also not listed here but previously set for November 27th is a Walt Disney Animation release though it’s not clear which one.
