“Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow is teaming with Amazon Prime Video to develop “Halcyon,” a paranoia sci-fi thriller series. No cast is yet set.
The story is set in a near future and involves the Witness Protection Program which now has the ability to not only relocate informants and their families geographically but also temporally – placing them in various eras in time.
One day, this seemingly infallible system is breached – a list of transplanted witnesses is discovered and hit squads are sent through time after them.
We follow Nathan Crew – a simple technician in the now-defunct Time Portal Division of the WPP – who is forced to travel back in time to try to warn the witnesses of the killers that are coming.
The project, created by Richard Smith, is based on Christopher Long’s graphic novel “Hiding In Time”. Smith penned the pilot which Trevorrow will direct and both executive produce.
Davey Holmes (“Get Shorty”) will serve as showrunner and executive producer with MGM Television, Metronome Film Company and 1.21 behind the project. Andrew Mittman and Lloyd Braun also executive produce.
