It’s official, Larry David has confirmed that the upcoming twelfth season of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” will be its last.
Originally released in 2000, the show was created by David who stars as a semi-fictionalized version of himself. Throughout its run it has been critically praised and nominated for over fifty Emmy Awards.
The show ended once before, back in 2011 after eight seasons. It was resurrected in 2017 with a ninth season followed by a tenth in 2020 and an eleventh in 2021.
In an official statement, David says the final run will allow him to shed his “malignant character”:
“As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character, and so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”
The seemingly final run of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” premieres February 4th on HBO.
