Netflix has plans to expand its video game ambitions with a new posting on their official site announcing a number of new titles coming to the platform in 2024.

In the works is an exclusive Sonic the Hedgehog game called “Sonic Mania Plus” in which “You can relive the Sonic of the past with an exciting new twist on classic zones while fighting against new bosses and Dr. Eggman’s evil robot army”.

Perhaps the biggest news is a video game is being developed based on their “Squid Game” franchise “in which you can compete with other players in games from the hit series”.

The posting confirms a video game based on Zack Snyder’s upcoming two-part sci-fi epic “Rebel Moon” is in the works, Snyder himself having previously teased his ambitious plans for the franchise also including a game.

Other games coming in 2024 include games based on “Money Heist,” “The Dragon Prince,” “Virgin River” and “Chicken Run,” whilst some notable mobile games like the two “Monument Valley” titles will also be coming to the service, as will acclaimed titles like “Hades,” “Braid: Anniversary Edition” and “Katana Zero”.

The current plan is to have 86 games available with another 90 in development. The news comes as “Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – The Definitive Edition” will be available on Netflix from tomorrow.

Games are included with every Netflix membership without ads, in-app purchases or extra fees.
