As part of tonight’s Game Awards, a trailer was released for “Marvel’s Blade,” a new video game from “Deathloop” and “Dishonored 2” developer Arkane Lyon. Arkane Lyon isn’t to be confused with Arkane Austin which developed the infamous “Redfall”.
The project is dubbed a “mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris.” The trailer unfolds in a barber shop filled with crosses as an employee shakily trims the Daywalker’s facial hair. When a siren roars, Blade gets up and tells the barber to lock up.
Whilst their previous titles were first person and often stealth focused, director and studio head Dinga Bakaba confirms that this will be a third-person action game. Bakaba says in a statement:
“As a kid of mixed origins, I felt a special connection to Blade—a hero with a dual heritage himself. The opportunity to put our spin on this character is a dream of mine and a challenge that our team embraces with a passion. We couldn’t be happier to put players in Blade’s boots, as he becomes the champion of my hometown of Paris, one stake at a time.”
No release date for the title was given but it will release exclusively on the Xbox Series X/S and PC and will arrive on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
