Amazon’s Prime Video has announced that not only have they officially renewed “Reacher” for a third season, filming on the new run is already underway.
Series lead Alan Ritchson, who takes on an executive producer role in the third season, made the announcement Saturday in a video for the CCXP convention in São Paulo, Brazil.
The announcement comes exactly two weeks ahead of the second season’s scheduled premiere on December 15th. Said announcement video, and a clip from the second season, can be seen below.
The first season premiered in February 2022 and was one of Prime Video’s biggest original shows to date so an early renewal is hardly a surprise.
Details about the third season are under wraps so it’s not clear what Lee Child book title it will be based on as yet. The second season is based on the eleventh book “Bad Luck and Trouble”.
The second season will see Reacher trying to uncover who is killing members of his former U.S. Army unit, the 110th MP Special Investigations.
Reacher reunites with three of his former teammates (Maria Sten, Serinda Swan and Shaun Sipos), who begin to connect the dots in a mystery where the stakes get higher at every turn.
