A new poster has been released for the sequel to 2021’s live-action “Godzilla vs. Kong” movie from Warner Bros. Pictures. The one-sheet comes ahead of the new trailer for the film expected to debut this weekend as part of CCXP in Brazil.
“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” marks the fifth official feature in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ ‘Monsterverse’ and comes in the wake of rave reviews for the currently airing “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” series on the Apple TV+ service.
“You’re Next” helmer Adam Wingard returns to the director’s chair after directing the first of the team-up films that followed in the wake of “Godzilla,” “Kong: Skull Island” and “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”.
This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own.
The new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.
Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle return from prior entries, while Dan Stevens, Fala Chen, Alex Ferns, and Rachel House join the cast.
Terry Rosario returns to pen the script with Jeremy Slater and Simon Barrett. “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” opens in cinemas on April 12th 2024.
