Peacock has released the official trailer for the second season of its anthology medical thriller series “Dr. Death” which returns on December 21st.
Edgar Ramirez will lead the cast of the second season which follows last year’s well-reviewed first season that starred Joshua Jackson in the lead role.
The new installment is based on the third season of the Wondery podcast of the same name with Ramirez playing Paolo ‘Miracle Man’ Macchiarini, a charming surgeon renowned for his innovative operations and performing the world’s first synthetic organ transplant.
When investigative journalist Benita Alexander (Mandy Moore) approaches him for a story, the line between personal and professional begins to blur, changing her life forever when she learns how far Paolo will go to protect his secrets.
At the same time, a group of doctors halfway across the world make shocking discoveries of their own that call everything about the ‘Miracle Man’ into question.
Ashley Michel Hoban takes over as writer, showrunner, and executive producer on the second season with Patrick Macmanus serving as executive producer alongside Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Taylor Latham, Linda Gase, Aaron Hart, Hernan Lopez, and Marshall Lewy of Wondery. Jennifer Morrison and Laura Belsey will direct four episodes each.
