Following a bootleg copy releasing online over the weekend, an official copy has now been released of the first look featurette for next year’s “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries” series.
The clip, which appeared on the recently released “WandaVision” Blu-ray set, shows behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the spin-off series with the cast talking about continuing Agatha’s story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Actress Kathryn Hahn says: “We knew we had something special on our hands, but I think we were all flabbergasted by the reception. People were hungry for something that felt nostalgic and something that everybody could sit around and watch and wait for on Friday nights.”
Hahn reprises her role of witch Agatha Harkness from “Wandavision,” with Emma Caulfield Ford also returning as Dottie. They will be joined by “Heartstopper” breakout Joe Locke, Broadway legend Patti LuPone, Aubrey Plaza, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia and Sasheer Zamata.
Jac Schaeffer serves as head writer and executive producer on the spin-off and the release of the clip comes as a rumor sprang up yesterday (via Daniel RPK) that Schaeffer was being sought to write and direct a new Scarlet Witch project.
That rumor has not been confirmed. “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries” will reportedly premiere on Disney+ in the fall of 2024.
