By It’s a dead-quiet Thanksgiving holiday weekend with essentially no news, but one interesting rumor has surfaced online.
Sccooper Daniel Richman (via ComicBook.com, who broke the news that Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards, has added another name to the “Fantastic Four” fire – “The Menu” and “Last Night in Soho” actress Anya Taylor-Joy.
According to the scooper, Taylor-Joy’s potential involvement is that of an undisclosed villain role in the film but does indicate who. The report comes as online rumors have spread suggesting Marvel Studios may gender-swap the Silver Surfer for the movie.
With Oscar winner Javier Bardem previously rumored to be in talks to play the planet-devouring cosmic character Galactus, Taylor-Joy as his silver-skinned herald is an interesting idea.
In the comics, Galactus has recruited or created dozens of heralds in his time including several women. Taylor-Joy will next be seen starring opposite Chris Hemsworth in George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel film “Furiosa”.
“WandaVision” and “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” producer Matt Shakman is directing Marvel’s “Fantastic Four” reboot that aims to shoot this spring at Pinewood Studios in London ahead of a May 2025 release.
