Actress Katee Sackhoff has shot down recent speculation that Bo-Katan could become the new lead in the upcoming fourth season of the “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian”.
After making brief appearances in the first two seasons, Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan took on a major supporting role in the third season – almost effectively becoming a co-lead with Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin.
In a recent interview with The Direct, the former “Battlestar Galactica” actress confirms that there have been no discussions at all about Bo-Katan becoming more emphasised for the next run:
“No. I think there’s always going to be a lot of speculation in this fandom. You know, I think it’s one of the reasons why people love this fandom so much. And they love this universe so much that a lot of times it allows just enough ambiguity for people to interpret things the way that they want to interpret them. And out of that there is the ability to have a lot of misinformation get out, or just, you know, wishful thinking.”
The recent third season ended with two factions of Mandalorians uniting to rebuild their home planet, the threat of Moff Gideon gone, and Din Djarin and Grogu having effectively retired to a quiet life.
Writing for a fourth season of the series was completed by February with pre-production occurring by April – but the strikes have slowed things down. When filming, which was originally expected to begin by the end of 2023, will begin again is unclear.
