Jim Carrey has no plans to slip on a green furry Yak hair suit again, despite online rumors to the contrary.
Recently came some talk that a sequel to 2000’s live-action “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” was in the works with Carrey attached to return.
However, a rep for the actor has shot down such talk. In a response to People Magazine, they say those reports are inaccurate: “There is no truth to Jim reprising his role as the Grinch in a sequel to The Grinch.”
Ron Howard directed the 2000 release film which saw Carrey covered head-to-toe in green fur to portray the character who plots to ruin the holidays for the citizens of Whoville.
Carrey has famously shared stories of the ordeal to play character which required the hiring of a consultant who trained CIA operatives to endure torture to help Carrey mentally cope as the actor said the process was akin to being buried alive.
Taylor Momsen, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski and Molly Shannon co-starred whilst Anthony Hopkins narrated the movie. Universal remade “The Grinch” as an Illumination animated film in 2018.
Recently Carrey said he was mostly “retiring” from acting work and enjoying a quiet life.
