Netflix has officially released an official first-look photo from its highly anticipated stage adaptation of “Stranger Things” with the prequel story “Stranger Things: The First Shadow.”
The photo marks the first real look at the upcoming stage play, the streamer having previously shown off behind-the-scenes footage and images as part of a promo reel nearly two weeks ago.
This first shot features a teen Henry Creel (Louis McCartney), surrounded by a mix of colored smoke surrounding the presence of a demogorgon.
In addition, it has been revealed that the play’s first act title will be called “Chapter One: The Girl From Nowhere”.
The story unfolds in Hawkins, Indiana in 1959: a regular town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister won’t take his radio show seriously and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get the hell out of town.
When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy… and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.
The cast includes Oscar Lloyd as James Hopper Jr., Louis McCartney as Henry Creel, Isabella Pappas as Joyce Maldonado, Christopher Buckley as Bob Newby, Ella Karuna Williams as Patty Newby, Patrick Vaill as Dr. Brenner, and Shane Attwooll as Chief Hopper.
Previews commence shortly at the Phoenix Theater in London.
