Actor Tom Hardy has revealed that production has resumed on the upcoming third film in the Marvel franchise “Venom” from Sony Pictures.
Hardy used his Instagram account to post a picture of himself and Kelly Marcel, the new film’s writer, director, and producer, back at work on the set of the movie.
The film’s production began in late June in Spain but was halted within a few weeks due to the actor’s strike. It’s now back up again post-strike and is currently on track for a November 8th 2024 release.
The film previously had a July 14th 2024 release, but the new date accommodates the film delay and allows the studio to book PLFs and IMAX screens for the release.
Marcel co-wrote the film’s story with Hardy, whilst Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor are onboard in key roles that are undisclosed at this time.
The two prior “Venom” films pulled in $1.36 billion worldwide at the box office, both movies saw releases in October of 2018 and 2021 respectively. It’s also the last of three Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC) films hitting screens next year.
