Cineverse has premiered the teaser trailer for “Terrifier 3” which is set to release next Halloween.
The project marks the third installment of Damien Leone’s breakout horror film series with Art the Clown returning to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.
The previous film’s heroine Sienna (Lauren LaVera) returns to battle the evil Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) as the film shifts from Halloween horror to Christmas carnage.
“Terrifier 2” was made on a budget of just $100,000 but raked in over $11 million at the box office. Leone explains to Bloody Disgusting:
“We’re going to have a bigger budget. We’re shooting in anamorphic widescreen, so I want it to feel more like an old-school John Carpenter movie. It’s going to still have that epic feel of part two, but now have the tone of part one with Christmas. It’s going to be a completely different beast. It’s going to look different. It’s going to feel different, but it’s still going to have everything you love in it. But it’s going to be very fresh. It’s not going to be like you’re sitting through part one or two all over again.”
The trailer premiered during the re-release of “Terrifier 2” in theaters on November 1st and seems to be a sort of standalone piece. “Terrifier 3” is set to open in cinemas on October 25th 2024.
