Those crazy Japanese! You can always rely on them. Industrious little fellows. Not content with bringing us reasonably proceed consumer goods, reliable cars, sushi, and Godzilla, now they have revealed more about Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom than any of our gaijin trailers ever could.
The new Japanese trailer for James Wan’s Aquaman sequel includes an absolute ton of brand-new footage. The movie looks just as bug-nuts insane as the first movie and is even bigger.
Jason Momoa returns as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Patrick Wilson as his half-brother Orm, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin.
Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all and obtains the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force.
Aquaman is forced to turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.
David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick penned the script from a story by Wan, Momoa & Thomas Pa’a Sibbett.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom opens in cinemas worldwide beginning December 20th and will be the final piece in the old DCEU or Snyderverse. After this, it is a clean slate and a new DCU rolling with Superman: Legacy.
