Netflix has offered a brief behind-the-scenes featurette and poster for the upcoming fourth and final season of its beloved time-manipulating comic series adaptation “The Umbrella Academy”.
“The Umbrella Academy” first aired in 2019 and follows a rather dysfunctional family of superpowered adopted siblings. At the end of the third season, the group essentially reset the universe and ended back up in the modern day, albeit without their powers.
At the same time, a new version of Reginald and his resurrected wife Abigail observe the city, now under their control. Regular cast members Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min and Colm Feore are all coming back.
The final season finished filming in May and clocks in with a shorter six-episode run – down from the ten-episode runs of each previous season.
Showrunner and executive producer Steve Blackman returns in that capacity for this last outing and will soon be working on a series adaptation of the popular PlayStation video game “Horizon: Zero Dawn” for the streamer.
“The Umbrella Academy” will return in 2024 on Netflix.
