One of the biggest bits of news out of Netflix’s Geeked Week celebrations today is that the second season of its League of Legends series “Arcane” has finally set a launch date.
The new season is set to arrive on the streamer November 2024 – exactly three years after the first season premiered and a renewal order was quickly handed out.
Hailee Steinfeld and Ella Purnell will reprise their roles as sisters Vi and Jinx – the pair on opposing sides of a conflict in the utopian city of Piltover and its underbelly Zaun. Katie Leung is set to return as Caitlyn Kiramman.
Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, the first season launched to universal acclaim from both newcomers and fans of the ‘League’ franchise.
Dubbed one of the best video game adaptations ever made, it won nine Annie Awards and was the first streaming series to win the Emmy Award for animated program.
It was also a hit, at launch topping the streamer’s chart in 52 countries. The second season will be executed produced by Linke, alongside Marc Merrill, Brandon Beck, Jane Chung and Thomas Vu.
