HBO has premiered the trailer for “Albert Brooks: Defending My Life,” the upcoming documentary feature about the iconic stand-up comedian and SNL writer/actor.
Since the late 1960s, Brooks has been a force in American comedy with his smart, absurdist humor across stand-up, acting, writing and directing films like “Modern Romance” and “Mother”.
With testimonials from some legendary comedy talents and serious thinkers, as well as family and friends, the film chronicles Brooks’ earliest work all the way to the present day.
In a deep dive conversation, the doco’s director Rob Reiner and Brooks explore the origins and evolution of Brooks’ career, the impetus for his creativity, and the impact he has had on the world of comedy.
Steven Spielberg, Chris Rock, Conan O’Brien, Wanda Sykes, Jon Stewart, Ben Stiller, Sarah Silverman, David Letterman, Larry David, Jonah Hill, Judd Apatow, Sharon Stone, and Brian Williams. Anthony Jeselnik, Tiffany Haddish, Alaina Haim, Nikki Glaser, James L. Brooks, and Neil deGrasse Tyson also appear.
Rob Reiner, Michele Reiner and Matthew George produce the film which premieres on HBO on November 11th.
