Oscar nominee Keira Knightley has been set to star in two new projects – the dystopian sci-fi thriller feature “Conception,” and the spy thriller TV series “Black Doves”.
“Conception” is set in a near-distant future in which the British government has taken authoritarian control over parenting in the UK. Knightley plays a loyal civil servant and believer in the unforgiving system she upholds until unexpected events render her victim to the same laws she so readily inflicted on others.
Camille Griffin (“Silent Night) pens and directs the film whilst Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler are producing the UK production which falls under an Equity contract.
“Black Doves” was written and created by “The Lazarus Project”. showrunner Joe Barton and set during Christmastime in London. Knightley plays Helen Webb, a politician’s wife, doting mother and professional spy passing her husband’s secrets to a shadowy organization.
When her lover Jason is assassinated, her life is turned upside down and only her old friend, suave champagne-drinking assassin Sam Young (Ben Whishaw) who has past ghosts of his own, can keep her safe and help her find Jason’s killers.
Also onboard are Sarah Lancashire as the head of the Black Doves, whilst Andrew Koji, Kathryn Hunter, Andrew Buchan, Omari Douglas, Ella Lily Hyland, Sam Troughton and Adam Silver have regular roles.
